Tasha was pale in the face and wide eyed as she slipped into the classroom she'd been directed to. Her backpack was clutched tightly to her chest, and she looked as though she was ready to bolt or cry. Perhaps both. Swallowing a lump in her throat, she walked as quietly as she could to the back corner of the classroom and took a seat, setting her bag on the floor under her dusk and tucking her knees up to her chest between herself and the desk as she waited for the noise to die down and the bell to ring.

Drew walked down the hall, his friends not trailing too far behind him. The kid clearly was a skater punk, wearing a backwards hat with the NYC symbol on it. A somewhat loose fitting t-shirt with more skateboard branding, Element, ToyMachine, Shorty's, Spitfire. Pretty much a walking advertisement. Cargo shorts hung low off of his waist with a belt that hung between his legs. Flat-bottomed shoes scuffed the ground as he dragged his feet towards his homeroom class. He stepped into class, his backpack over his shoulder with his skateboard in his free hand. He squints his eyes, adjusting his glasses to look for an open seat in the back. He finds one and quickly scoops himself in the seat, putting his board behind his seat and his backpack underneath it. He looked over to see a pretty girl sitting in the corner. He didn't say anything, just offered her a smile and an upnod.

Tasha wasn't looking around the room at all. Her face was on her hands, which were busy wringing themselves nervously between her legs and chest. Feeling the air shift beside her, a clear indicator that there was something living, breathing and likely human moving around too close for comfort, she turned to look at the boy who'd sat next to her. Finding a smiling and...really pretty face, she opened her mouth to say hi, but nothing came out. With her face reddening, she turned her gaze back on her hands. There was nothing spectacular about her appearance. Loose fitting cargo jeans, a black zipped up jacket with no advertisements cause she wasn't a loser, and sneakers. Her hair hung loosely and looked ridiculously unbrushed regardless of what she'd done to make it look decent before she'd arrived.

Drew eyed the cute girl up and down, still smiling at her even after she looked away from him. Call it being cocky, or maybe just confidence after a few years of making a decent name for himself in the high school. "Hey there. My names Andrew, most people call me Drew though. This your first year?" He leaned back in his seat and put his hands behind his head.

Tasha felt eyes burning into the side of her head. He was still looking at her, fuck! Well this was embarassing. One hand broke free of the torment of wringing and raising into the nervous habit of fiddling with her hair. The long hair helped to hide her face. It's why she hated having and never let herself have bangs, she couldn't hide if they were short. She tensed when he spoke. Dear fuck, he was talking to her now. Fuckity fuckin fuck fuck. Peering back at him from behind her hair, she managed an awkward grin. "Hi...yeah, I'm new...please don't can me."

Drew blinked at her. He shook his head and laughed. "Holy shit, really? I'm not a douche like that!" He laughed some more before adjusting his hat. "So what's your name?"

Tasha reddened further when the boy laughed, looking just a tiny bit squirmy in her seat. "...that's good." Her eyes moved away from him, scanning the room as if she was expecting hell hounds to burst through the doors at any second. "Tasha."

Drew nodded, his goofy smile still on his face. "Tasha? That's a cute name. Don't know any other girls named Tasha." He turned in his seat to face Tasha. Clearly not realizing that he may have been tormenting her with his talking to her. "So what's up, Tasha? You gotta have some hobbies right? Whatcha like to do after school?" He grinned and held up his worn skateboard. "I usually go behind the old pharmacy and skate with my bros. Least until someone tells us to leave."

Tasha looked like her head was about ready to explode the second the word 'cute' was uttered in any form of describing something about her. Sinking down in her seat, she seemed to be melting into the wall when he turned to face her. Swallowing, she cleared her throat and finally turned to look at him, though her closed off posture remained defensively in place. "The ceiling...I think. I could be wrong though, I tend to be a lot." He wasn't going to stop talking, so maybe if she talked his ear off? Who was she kidding, he was hot! "Um...well, the new Silent Hill is coming out. I was thinking of asking my mom to take me to Wal-Mart to see if they have it yet." Her gaze moved to his skateboard, and she snorted, doing her best to appear unimpressed. "A skater, huh?"

Drew chuckled at her little joke. Though shortly thereafter his eyes beamed through this glasses when she mentioned Silent Hill. "No FUCKIN' WAY! I LOVE that game! Holy shit! Did you beat the first one? I swear the first time I played it I turned the fuckin' Playstation off. Not even afraid to admit it dude." He shook his head, quickly followed by an arched brow as he scoffed back at her. "Chyeah, what's wrong with that? You don't like skatin'?"

Tasha jumped visibly at his sudden outburst, her eyes immediately darting toward the teacher whom was now looking squarely in their direction. Raising her hands, she waved at him to lower his voice. "Shuuuut upppp! You're gonna get me in trouble, damn it!" Her face scrunched up as she popped her legs back down under her desk, sliding as far down in her chair as she could without actually crawling under the desk. "Yeah, I had to shut it off too. Played it at three in the morning with my friend Rudy. Freaked us the hell out. Got the best ending though." She couldn't help but giggle at his response to her sarcastic jab at his being a skater. "Didn't say I didn't like it. Just wanted to get a rise out of you. Got a problem with it?" She arched a brow back at him, crossing her arms over her chest.

Drew grinned like a moron as he realized her embarassment with the situation. "Psh, don't worry about it Tasha...it's your first day...no one really gives two shits." He listens to her story and smiles. "Best ending? Oh damn, I didn't even get that shit. Props dude. Though the second one looks freakin' beastly." He reaches over and taps her on the shoulder. "You should totally come over sometime and play it with me! Most of my friends aren't into the series." He arched a brow as she started being a bit of a wiseass with him. "Ohhh, now the smartass comes out to play? 'Bout time!" He laughs, again. God damn.

Tasha looked between him and the teacher who seemed to have gone back about his business passing out class schedules. "...oh. Well then, please! Continue screaming profanities." There was that stupid challenging look again. As he congratulated her on her apparent awesomeness, she blew on her nails and wiped them off on her jacket. "Yeah, I know. Mad skills and all." She tensed immediately when he tapped her shoulder, looking at him quizically. "...oh uh...sure. I guess I could do it today if you want..." Diving head first! Strange boy's house for video games! Nothing worrisome! Perfect! She laughs along with him then, her voice lowering when the teacher dropped their schedules on their desks. "My ass is VERY smart, thank you!"

Drew laughed out loud. "Yeah I'm sure it's a freakin' genius." He looked at her and eyes her up and down. "Sounds like fun! I take my bike to school, it's got pegs on the back if you wanna hitch a ride." He looks up at the teacher as he handed out their schedules, looking at it briefly before sticking it in his pocket.

Tasha picked up her schedule, simply nodding. "It is." She didn't catch him eyeing her, or she might have spontaneously combusted, her gaze locked on her schedule as if she were trying to memorize it and was failing miserably. Shrugging finally, she tucked it into her jacket pocket, her hands following suit. "Sure...just as long as you don't wreck. I like being in one piece and all that. Blood on the inside. I'll call my mom at lunch and let her know." Standing from her seat, she leaned down to snatch her bag and clutched it back to her chest. "You don't happen to have art for your first class, do you?"

Drew beamed brightly before looking at his schedule again. "Art? Lemme check. Uhhhh...yeah! You wanna walk there together? Don't want you to get lost now!" He stands up and grabs his backpack and skateboard.

Tasha seemed to loosen up just a tiny bit at the idea of having someone she was at least acquainted with to walk to class next to. "Yeah...if you want, I mean." She walked as invisibly as possible to the door and waited in the corner for him to catch up before she'd leave the room.

Drew caught up to her quickly and grinned at her. "C'mon girly, let's get shit rollin'!" He tapped her on the shoulder again and motioned for her to follow.

Tasha cringed and very nearly whined when he tapped her and called her girly. She seemed to have no issue following him though, sticking ridiculously close to him until it was safe to step from behind her human meat shield.
